HOW TO PLAY FUSE
Fuse is a neon arcade survival game built on one cruel rule: you are a living bomb, and your fuse burns only while you stand still. This guide covers everything — controls, the hunters, scoring, power-ups, and the three game modes — so your first run lasts longer than your first ten seconds.
The fuse rule
The moment your speed drops to zero, the fuse lights and starts burning down. Keep moving — any movement at all — and the fuse stays cold. You do not need to sprint; a slow, constant drift is enough. What kills beginners is not slowness, it is stopping: stopping to plan, stopping to watch a hunter, stopping because a spark looks dangerous to grab. In Fuse, hesitation is the explosion. When the fuse is lit you will see and hear the warning — move immediately and it goes out.
Controls
| Action | Touch / phone | Keyboard & mouse |
|---|---|---|
| Move | On-screen joystick, or drag anywhere | WASD or arrow keys |
| Dash | Double-tap | Double-tap a direction key, or Shift |
| Pause | Pause button, top corner | P or Esc |
Dash gives you a short burst of speed with brief invulnerability — you can pass straight through a hunter while dashing. It runs on a cooldown, so treat it as an escape hatch, not a travel method. The moment just after a dash is when most runs end: plan where the dash lands, not just what it dodges.
Know your hunters
- Chasers hunt you directly and get faster the longer you survive. They are honest — where they point is where they go — so beat them with angles, not speed.
- Trappers do not chase you; they chase where you are going. They cut across your path to intercept, which makes wide, predictable runs fatal. Change direction more often than feels necessary.
- Sweepers patrol lanes back and forth and ignore you completely. They turn open space into a timetable — cross their lanes between passes, never along them.
New hunters join as your score climbs, and existing ones speed up. The arena does not get harder in spikes; it tightens like a knot.
Scoring: sparks and close calls
Survival time ticks your score up steadily, but the real points are sparks — glowing pickups that spawn in the worst places on purpose. Grabbing sparks near hunters is the whole risk-reward of the game. Even better: a close call. Graze past a hunter without touching it and you bank a bonus of up to 200 points. Chaining close calls is how the top of the leaderboard separates from everyone else — and how most brave runs end. Your score also pays: every 100 points earns a coin in Classic mode.
Power-ups
- Freeze — stops every hunter cold for a few seconds. Your reset button when the arena becomes a wall of teeth.
- Magnet — pulls nearby sparks to you, so you can harvest a dangerous cluster from safe ground.
- Shield — absorbs one fatal hit. It does not save you from the fuse, only from contact — a stopped bomb still explodes.
Revive (100 coins, or in the shop) brings one run back from an explosion, keeping your score alive. Power Start begins a run with Freeze, Magnet and Shield pre-armed. Both are for casual runs — ranked daily play never allows them, on purpose.
The three modes
Classic Survival is the endless mode described above — the leaderboard, the daily runs, the purest form of the game. 1v1 Duel puts you and a friend (challenge by code, no account needed for your guest) in one arena with the same hunters and your own chosen skins and boosts; outlive them, take 25 coins. Battle Royale drops you into a shrinking arena with rival bombs — survive the squeeze, place high, and win up to 50 coins.
